Upcoming Infidels Jazz Shows: January 6-12
Happy New Year! We hope that you've had a wonderful holiday season and lots of time to spend with family and friends.
January is a relatively light month for us, with "only" 11 shows at 8 venues around Vancouver. The quality far outweighs the quantity, however, and we're proud to be presenting some of Vancouver's very best musicians this month.
It all begins this Monday, January 6, with the Mary Ancheta Quartet! They are about to leave on a tour of Australia, and they've got a lot of new material they're working on. We've set up a show at Hot Deli (AKA The Lido) to celebrate and to give you a chance to send them off in style.
Tickets are available now. Hot Deli is not a big room, and tickets have already started to sell.
One of our most successful collaborations last year was with our friends at VIFF, and we're presenting even more shows with them this year at the VIFF Centre. On January 11, Victor Noriega's Kuyatet will be performing there, along with a screening of one of the greatest Filipino films ever made: Manila in the Claws of Light. Most of these special VIFF concerts sell out, so please make sure you get your tickets soon.
Steve Maddock recently wowed a sold out room at the VIFF Centre paying tribute to Chet Baker alongside Vince Mai, and we're so pleased to finally have this great singer lead his own show for us, as part of our Sundays at Hero's Welcome series, on January 12. These shows start at 2PM, and are only ten bucks!
