Upcoming Infidels Jazz Shows: January 19-26
Infidels Jazz is presenting 6 very different Jazz shows in Vancouver over the next week or so!
On January 21, one of the hottest young trumpeters in the country will be making his debut at the Painted Ship in Kitsilano! This is the first show in what we hope is a monthly series there. We're calling it Sea Legs at the Painted Ship, and the first show stars Julian Borkowski leading a band that will feature John Nicholson, David Caballero & Arvind Ramdas. Tickets are only $10 for this one, but you have to get them at the door...so get there early!
We're back at the Zameen Art House on January 24 with pianist & composer Róisín Adams, as part of our New Thing series there, co-presented with the NOW Society. She'll be joined by Matthew Ariaratnam & Alex Mah. Tickets are on sale now.
Asef is a new band that combines middle eastern melodies with jazz composition. It features Saul Berson, Itamar Erez, Sam Shoichet, and Liam MacDonald, and they'll be playing their second show ever at All-City Athletics on January 25. All-City is a small room, so buy your tickets soon.
Don't miss out on our Sundays at Hero's Welcome show this week, featuring Billy (AKA Bill Weeds, on guitar) and The Kid (AKA Cory Weeds on saxophone). They'll be joined by Steve Holy on bass and Joe Poole on drums.
Also, Electric Miles is playing its first show in quite some time at Hero's Welcome on January 23 as part of our Social Music series there! This band plays the music of 1970's era Miles Davis and is sold-out! We will have a very small amount of tickets available at the door, so get there early if you don't have a ticket.
