Upcoming Infidels Jazz Shows: Jan 31 - Feb 2
Infidels Jazz is proud to be presenting five very different concerts in Vancouver this weekend!
Tony Wilson & John Korsrud are two of the Vancouver creative music scene's most lauded veterans. From Tony's collaborations with Peggy Lee and the Longhand Trio to John's groundbreaking work with the Hard Rubber Orchestra, these two have been responsible for many of the city's most exciting creative projects for decades. They'll be at Zameen Art House on Jan. 31, with a brand new septet featuring some of the city's best and brightest. This concert is the debut of our new series at Zameen called the Expression Sessions. Tickets are almost sold out so please act quickly!
Our next presentation at the Vancity Theatre is happening on Feb. 1, and it's going to be groundbreaking. Perennial VIFF favourite Feven Kidane is teaming up with Dan Gaucher's Tiny Pyramids, for a special one-night-only celebration of the music of Sun Ra. In addition, a rare screening of the cult favourite film Space is the Place will be shown.
We'll be back at Frankie's this weekend, with our ongoing series Frankie's After Dark. Our featured performers will be trumpeter RJ Abella, debuting a new chordless quartet on Friday night, and pianist Max Huberdeau leading a great trio on the Saturday. All of our After Darks start at 11PM and are only 10 bucks.
And last but not least, vocalist extraordinaire Teresa Marie will be returning to Hero's Welcome on Feb. 2 as part of our Sundays series there. These shows start at 2PM and are also only 10 bucks!
