Upcoming Infidels Jazz Shows: Feb 20-25
Infidels Jazz is heading into a huge stretch of shows, with 9 big concerts in Metro Vancouver over the next 6 days!
Kahil El’Zabar has been at the forefront of American free jazz music for 50 years, and he'll be bringing his Ethnic Heritage Ensemble to the Pearl for the very first time on February 24th. This is a can't-miss performance if you love creative music, as Kahil has been touring with this band all month to celebrate Black History Month.

Yoro Noukoussi has been wowing Vancouver audiences for decades, playing his unique blend of various West African musical traditions, and backed up by his band, the African Masters. We defy you to stay seated for this one.

We are thrilled to be presenting one of the most exciting new groups on the Canadian jazz scene on February 22, Bellbird! Bellbird features Vancouver's own Mili Hong and Eli Davidovici on bass and drums, as well as Claire Devlin and Allison Burik on saxophones. This group was one of the highlights of last year's jazz festival, so don't miss out on this rare opportunity to hear them in one of the Vancouver's hippest jazz rooms.

Allison Burik will be headlining another show this weekend, with a solo saxophone performance as part of our New Thing series at Zameen Art House! They will be joined by Mili Hong and Claire Devlin in an opening set.

We're excited to be teaming up with our friends at the Rickshaw to co-present an incredible concert at the BlueShore Financial Centre at the Performing Arts on February 25: Nik Bärtsch's RONIN! Their performance at the Fox last year is still talked about, and we know they'll take advantage of the much bigger BlueShore Centre to good effect.

Gordy Li has been one of the great Vancouver jazz success stories over the past several years, and he's put together a very special one-night only performance at the Painted Ship on February 25, featuring Cole Schmidt, Feven Kidane, and Mili Hong. This one is only ten bucks!

The next installment of our wildly successful collaborations with the VIFF folks is on February 22, and it's the Quincy Mayes Brazilian Soul Experience, paired with a screening of the film City of God. This is sold out, but there may be tickets at the door.
We'll be back at Frankie's this weekend with our ongoing series Frankie's After Dark. Our featured performers will be the guitarist Chris Fraser on Friday night (featuring members of Bellbird) and pianist Jillian Lebeck leading a trio on Saturday night. All of our After Darks start at 11PM and are only 10 bucks!
