Upcoming Infidels Jazz Shows: Apr 9-14
Infidels Jazz has a huge week of Jazz concerts planned in Vancouver, with 8 different shows planned at 6 different venues!
It all starts tomorrow, Wednesday, April 9 at Hero's Welcome as Gordon Grdina and Christian Lillinger play in Vancouver for the very first time as a duo, fresh off the success of their album Duo Work. Tickets are selling extremely quickly, but there should be a limited amount at the door.

Jamaaladeen Tacuma and Dave Bryant are in town on Friday, April 11 with the Harmolodic League, featuring members of Ornette Coleman's Prime Time Band! This is happening at the Kingsway Club, a new venue we're very excited about. This is an extremely rare opportunity to hear these legends live, for only $20!

The music of Jimmy Giuffre has been delighting and confounding jazz audiences for close to 70 years, and Geoff Claridge aims to help us figure it all out on Saturday, April 12 at Zameen Art House, along with Karin Plato and Josh Roberts. This is one of my favourite local projects right now.

Drummer Biboye Onanuga is in town from Edmonton for the weekend, with two fantastic shows. He''ll be celebrating the music of Thelonious Monk on Sunday, April 13 at the VIFF Centre, along with John Nicholson, Quincy Mayes, and Jodi Proznick. After the music, there will be a screening of the film Straight, No Chaser.

Biboye will also be at Frankie's After Dark on Saturday, April 12 with Low & Slow, a new band in the tradition of '60 era spritual jazz, featuring Feven Kidane, Suin Park, and Sasha Liebrand. On the night before, Friday, April 11, Harrison Ivaz leads a fantastic trio at Frankie's as well.
Our Sundays at Hero's Welcome series is back on April 13 with baritone saxophonist Ian Shaw!
And on Monday, April 14, Skye Eriksen leads a great quartet at the Hot Deli as part of our Pass the Hat Series there.
