String Quartets, Evil New Projects, & Duke Ellington at Christmas

Infidels Jazz is presenting 6 unique musical events over the next three days, at 5 different venues!

Drummer Kevin Romain debuts his brand-new Axis of Evil project at Zameen Art House tomorrow night, featuring Thad Bailey-Mai on trumpet, John Nicholson on saxophones, and Olive Shakur and Nikko Whitworth on bass.

Casey Thomas-Burns' Leading Ladies will perform the music of Duke Ellington's Nutcracker Suite at the VIFF Centre on Sunday. This is a rare opportunity to hear one of the city's premier big band perform this Christmas classic. They'll also perform it at the Hollywood on December 20.

Emilio Suarez is debuting his brand-new string quartet at Frankie's After Dark on Friday, and Chelsea McBride will be playing her first Infidels show ever at After Dark on Saturday. Jimi James will be hosting our monthly jam session at Hero's this Sunday, and later that night Matt Franceschini will be performing Christmas music at our Trios at Meo Chinatown series.
