Jazz Fusion Freak Out, Experimental Guitar, & Louis Armstrong
After a relatively slow July, August is packed full of Infidels Jazz shows! Over the next 4 days, we are presenting 7 concerts at 5 different venues.
We’re at the Pearl not once, but twice this weekend. Legendary American guitarist Bill Orcutt will be playing his first Vancouver show in over 30 years on August 7th, with an opening set by JP Carter’s band JPC & The Battery. There aren't many advance tickets left to this one!

A few days later we're back at the Pearl for our first ever Jazz Fusion Freak Out! This is a fantastic double bill with two of the hottest young Jazz groups in the city: the Cowboy Bebop Bebop Band and Chopping Spree.

Clyde Reed is one of the West Coast's most respected bassists. On August 8th he'll be playing our New Thing series, joined by colleagues Jared Burrows, Brian Horswill, and Kenton Loewen.

We haven't had Bonnie Northgraves do an Infidels show in a while, and we're happy to rectify that on August 10th at the VIFF Centre! Bonnie will be performing a special set of Louis Armstrong covers, followed by a screening of one of the greatest jazz movies of all time, Jazz On A Summer's Day.

Dan Howard has been taking the city's Jazz scene by storm and is about to play his first Sundays at Hero's Welcome show as a leader. He'll have bass clarinetist James Danderfer with him as a special guest.

Last but not least, Lucy Lambert will be performing on Friday night at Frankie's After Dark, and Erika Chow will be performing the music of Wayne Shorter there on Saturday night!
