Japanese Jazz & Solo percussion, the launch of a new Big Band Series, and the music of Andy Milne!

Infidels Jazz has a stacked weekend ahead, with 14 concerts at 8 different venues around Vancouver!

We're starting things off on Friday with the great bass clarinetist Johanna Hauser, who will be performing with Matthew Ariaratnam & Nikko Whitworth Zameen Art House, as part of our New Thing series.

Andy Milne is performing two solo sets at VIFF on Saturday, followed by a trio show at Frankie's the next day!

Chen Baker sells out most of the shows they do for us, and they are on track to doing that again this Saturday at the Rec Room on Granville when they perform their favourite J-Jazz fusion classics.

2026 is the 100th anniversary of the Adventures of Prince Achmed, the first animated film ever. Gordon Grdina & Hamin Honari will be improvising a live score to this iconic film on March 01.

Legendary Japanese percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani travels the world in his van, bringing his solo performances to everyone he can. He'll be returning to Vancouver on March 01, at the Moberly Arts Centre.

We're launching our new big band series at the American this Sunday, with the debut of Ruthie Ha's Big Band!

All this, plus Wes Anderson & Ben Rossouw will be leading trios at Frankie's After Dark, Matt Franceschini will be hosting a jam session at Hero's Welcome, and Arvind Ramdas, Jack Duncan, and Jonny Tobin will be leading trios at Meo Chinatown.\
