Infidels Jazz events coming up: November 18-24
Infidels Jazz is excited to be presenting six great jazz shows this week!
Internationally recognized marimbist Robin Layne just released a brand new album, Pacifico, and we'll be celebrating that on November 23rd at the Painted Ship! Our Painted Ship shows are first come, first serve, so make sure you get there early to get a good table. The venue has great tacos and cocktails, so it's a perfect night out.
Our New Thing series is back at the Zameen Art House on Friday, November 22 with two long-running duos. Kenton Loewen & JP Carter have been working together for over 20 years, and released their first album as a duo on the Infidels Jazz label in 2021. Wabi — Bernie Arai & Chris Gestrin — has been a collaboration for even longer, as Bernie and Chris released their first album together in 2015. Both duos will be performing this Friday, and tickets are on sale now.
Our collaboration with the VIFF Centre continues this Sunday with a special screening of Bruce Weber's seminal Let's Get Lost, as well as a tribute to Chet Baker, performed by the Vince Mai Quintet featuring Steve Maddock on vocals. It’s sold out, but there may be a few tickets are the door.
More Infidels Jazz shows this week
We are presenting two exciting shows at Frankie's After Dark on Friday & Saturday night, featuring bassist Brad Pearson & drummer Jordy McIntosh respectively. Brad's last show as a leader for us almost sold out Frankie's, and Jordy will be performing a very special tribute to guitar god John Scofield, featuring Jake Kostuchuk on guitar.
