Guitar legend plays first Vancouver show in 30 years
Depending on who you ask, Guitarist Bill Orcutt is either best known for his 1990's stretch with seminal punk/free jazz/no wave group Harry Pussy, or for his more recent experimental collaborations with Chris Corsano, Joe McPhee, and Alan Bishop, which earned him a spot on the cover of this month's issue of The Wire.
Regardless of how you know him, you haven't seen him in a while: Bill hasn't performed in Vancouver in over 30 years.
All that changes on August 7th as Bill Orcutt performs his very first solo show here at the Kingsway Club.
We'll also hear an opening set by a new Vancouver group featuring some of our most prolific improvisers, JPC & The Battery. JP Carter is best known for his work with Destroyer & Haram, and recently released his second album with Kenton Loewen on the Infidels record label.
Tickets are selling very quickly, and we expect the show to sell out this week.
