Celebrating Sonny Rollins & Punk Legends + the launch of Two New Live Series
Infidels Jazz is presenting 8 concerts in Vancouver over the next 5 days, at 7 different venues!
Punk/Free Jazz Legends Bill Orcutt, Steve Shelley, and Ethan Miller are launching their new album at the Rickshaw on September 9th! Bill's recent show at the Pearl was a 2025 highlight, and we're expecting the same from this group of legends. Vancouver's free jazz upstarts KneeJerk will be opening, playing music from their new album on Infidels Jazz.
Jazz icon Sonny Rollins turns 95 this weekend, and Vancouver is celebrating with 11 different concerts that feature some of his best albums performed live! Infidels Jazz is proud to present three shows as part of this mini-festival, featuring Cory Weeds at VIFF plus Tamas Balai and Connor Lum at Frankie's After Dark. Please also check out the other great shows at Tyrant Studios, La Fabrique St-George, Apollo's, and Frankie’s Jazz Club.
Grammy-nominated keyboardist Jonny Tobin launches Cheat Codes, a new live series featuring the best in anime and video game music at Rec Room Granville, on September 5th! He'll be playing your favourite video game soundtracks, as well as some deep cuts.
MASKWA is a brand new project led by Jarrett Martineau, Karlis Silins, and Kenton Loewen that sounds like the forgotten love child of Beastie Boys and Gil Scott-Heron. They'll be playing our East Van Shuffle series at Hot Deli on September 8th.
Last but not least, UK saxophonist Len Aruliah leads his first Infidels show ever on September 7th as part of our Sundays at Hero's Welcome series!
