Our first huge Jazz show of the year is on January 23, and it's a great double bill at the beautiful new Alliances Francais Theatre featuring François Houle & Montreal's Bellbird.

Clarinetist François Houle has been part of the bedrock of the Vancouver creative music scene for well over 30 years, and his new quartet featuring Noah Franche-Nolan, James Meger & Kenton Loewen show exactly why. It combines the fiery intensity of improvisation with beautiful new compositions by Francois, deftly managed by his incredible band. 

Montreal's Bellbird sold out their last Vancouver show, and audiences here have been clamouring for their return ever since. Featuring Vancouver's own Mili Hong & Eli Davidovici along with Claire Devlin & Allison Burick, this band is releasing their first album on Constellation Records very soon.
