Award-winning saxophonist plays his first Vancouver show in over 10 years!
Alto saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa is widely known as one of the premier voices in jazz of the 21st century and was named alto saxophonist of the year for nine years running in DownBeat Magazine’s International Critics’ Polls, and for six years by the Jazz Journalists Association.
His most recent release, Hero Trio, was considered to be one of the best jazz albums of 2020 by critics and fans alike, and is the project he'll be performing at Revue Stage on October 18, in his first Vancouver concert in over 10 years. This album features songs that inspired Rudresh's formative years as a musician, and includes music by Stevie Wonder, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, June Carter Cash, and more.
