ION Glasgow Updates and May Meeting Reminder
Hi there,
Thank you to all who were able to attend our April meeting. It was a fairly small and intimate meeting, but we were able to build some connections with new folks, and begin to discuss some of the broader movement-building work we might engage in. In particular, there's been a lot of discussion about movement-oriented digital infrastructure over the course of the last several meetings, and so we had a conversation, centered on this research and design document, about what that might entail. To help us pursue this project, we've decided to create a (temporary) digital infrastructure working group focused on researching and integrating a variety of functions, ranging from a radical events calendar to a skill/tool/labour exchange platform, into the ION-Glasgow website. If you'd like to join this working group - no expertise required; we're happy to hear everyone's ideas - please get in touch! Feel free to join the discussion on the forum here, or else you can email us at IONGlasgow@proton.me.
As a reminder, the next ION-Glasgow meeting will take place on Saturday the 17th of May, from 2-5pm at the Quaker Meeting House. Additional details can be found on the ION-Glasgow website here. The discussion section of this meeting will be focused on talking about (anti)fascism here in Glasgow and across Scotland more broadly. We'll present an overview of what's been going on over the past year, discuss how our communities have responded, take a look at a recently released zine about autonomous antifascist organising, and have a conversation about where we can go from here. With fascists growing increasingly bold, we hope to use this discussion as a springboard from which we can grow and intensify our antifascist organising.
In solidarity,
ION Glasgow - Comms Working Group
