GAZA DOUBLE ACTION ALERT!!

Hello, All, from the INWCLP!

You and any interested members of your organizations are invited to participate in the planning and execution of 2 upcoming actions planned by the INWCLP in partnership with PSL!

The purpose of both of these actions is to refocus public attention on the latest genocidal actions of Israel and the U.S. in Gaza.

As you are probably painfully aware, these actions include starvation and denial of water and other basic needs to civilians, and the targeting, sniping and bombing of civilians seeking essential aid, as well as the assassination of those who would try to help them (medics and aid workers, and journalists, who dare to tell the world of these atrocities).

The first action will take place next Thursday (July 31st), from 4:00-6:00 PM, on Monroe Street, spread out on the sidewalks between Riverside, Main and the south end of the Monroe Street Bridge.

Inspired by the Palestinian Youth Movement's "Days of Action," we are highlighting the theme and slogan, "Stop Starving Gaza NOW!"

For those that are able to participate, we are suggesting signs with to-the-point slogans, and/or images, accompanied by wording that convey, in uncompromising terms, our outrage at the actions mentioned above.

Examples of possible sign wording: "Stop Starving Gaza NOW," "Your Tax Dollars at Work," "Stop the Hate, Stop the Bait," "Israel and U.S. shoot starving civilians," "Don't Look Away," "Food, NOT Bombs," "Aid, NOT Bullets," "Stop shooting starving humans," etc., etc.

Alternatively, participants may bring an empty pot and serving spoon, to use as both a symbol and noisemaker. We hope to spread out in pairs/small groups along the sidewalks, with at least one person per pair/group banging on the empty insides of a cooking pot.

Our message is meant to be potent and uncompromising, reflecting the urgency of the moment. This action, though non-violent, is intended to shock the conscience of members of the public stopped at traffic lights in this congested area during rush-hour!

IMPORTANT! Don't forget to review safety tips and your rights as a protester here: https://www.aclu-wa.org/protest-center

As for our second action, we are planning a different type of event around Pig-Out-In-The-Park.

If you are interested in participating in the planning of that action, please contact us at <info@inwclp.com> Our next planning meeting is tentatively scheduled for the evening of Sunday, August 3rd, location TBD. Stay tuned!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

In addition to the upcoming rallies, the INWCLP will be tabling Unity in the Community and Garland Pride on August 16th! We are looking for volunteers to help promote awareness and education about Palestine. If you are new to the INWCLP, do not worry- there will be someone from the Core Team at the table at all times. All materials will be provided. All you need to bring is yourself and a desire for a free Palestine.

  • When & Where

    • Unity in the Community: Saturday, August 16th at 10am-3pm in Riverfront Park

    • Garland Pride: Saturday, August 16th, 4-9pm at 723 W Garland Ave (near the Milk Bottle)

  • What

    • Help out at INWCLP’s table— hand out education materials, answer questions if you’re able, show solidarity!

If you are interested in volunteering at INWCLP’s table for an hour-long shift (or longer), please email jvpspokaneadmin@proton.me with the time slot(s) you would like to join for.

Thank you for the work you all do for a more just and peaceful world. We hope to see you on Thursday!

In solidarity,

INWCLP
