First things first (if you said "I'm the realest" after that intro, you should close this email and go wash out your mouth right away, thank you) -- things are still weird in the BEAR NEWS CAVE. We're not going to explain it for you, because we're not like that, but be assured -- we have no idea what's going on! And we probably won't know for a long time! Or ever! What we DO know, however, is that the bears are ready and eager to move in the early days of the coming summer. Is it hot in your neck of the world? (Probably). Bears are there! Still a bit unseasonably chilly? (Boston, we know what you're about). Bears are there! The bears, you see, really never went anywhere -- just like this newsletter was always here, waiting for you to open it, and urging you to spread the word and search for bears near and far and send them to yonder cave. Follow us @importbearnews, and preach the everlasting bear gospel, dear reader -- preach it loud and preach it proud!

Tibetan blue bear (ursus arctos pruinosus), an exceedingly rare subspecies of the more commonly-known brown bear. Sightings in the wild, specific information and general knowledge of the bear are also rare, but it is believed in some circles to perhaps be the inspiration behind common sightings of the so-called "Yet" in the Himalayas.
food: As the Tibetan blue bear is not widely studied or regularly observed, the best estimate of the subspecies' food habits hew close to those of its fellow brown bears -- roots, berries, and other plants, and occasionally rodents.
habitat: The Tibetan blue bear resides in the eastern portion of the Tibetan plateau, near the high, snowy portions of the Himalayan Mountain Range.
