Upcoming classes for all ages, summer camps, and another (!) announcement

Hi everyone,

We’ve been thrilled to receive so many warm and encouraging notes after our announcement last week that we’re opening a second location on College near Dufferin. Thank you!

We can do this only because of your support, and that support is enabling yet another announcement: Hot Pizza is officially an Ontario Living Wage Network certified employer. One goal for the business is to support working artists, and to that end we have committed to paying all faculty and assistant faculty members at least the rate calculated by OLWN—which, at present, is 55% higher than Ontario’s minimum wage.

Read on for studio updates: upcoming classes, more summer-camp spots, and our founder Julia being featured on CBC’s Q radio show.

Enjoying the warmth while it lasts,
Brian

Thursdays, April 2, 9, and 16, 10 a.m.–12 p.m. Last week was our first Office Hours session, where you can be creative, meet people, and learn new skills—whether starting from scratch or bringing in a long-neglected project or new idea. The reviews are in: Julia’s “enthusiasm, warmth, and openness was infectious”; “that was SOOOOO fun today.” Sign up for the next three Thursdays here →

Saturday, April 11, 7–9 p.m. Hot Pizza husband Brian Sholis leads the Correspondence Club, a fun letter-writing meetup where we swap inks, paper, stickers, and stories while drafting notes to loved ones near and far. It’s a feel-good Saturday night. Sign up here →

Sunday, April 12, 2–4 p.m. Bring your own totes, tea towels, or t-shirts to class! Led by artist Paul Dotey, you’ll explore Relief Printmaking using rubber and lino blocks to create prints on textiles and paper. This is all-ages, and a great opportunity to get creative alongside your kid! Sign up here →

Saturday, April 18, 10 a.m.–12 p.m. Our most popular and longest-running side-by-side session, Apparel Design, has adults and kids sewing, stamping, using appliqué, painting, and drawing to customize Hot Pizza–provided T-shirts. Make your Spring/Summer 2026 wardrobe truly your own! Sign up here →

Summer camps on College St.

A grid of ten images showing kids having fun making art and playing outside

There have been so many new names among the registrations for our College St. summer camps!

We’re delighted to have more spots available, so if you’re still looking for summer-camp options—or have neighbours or friends who are fretting—then send them our way!

We offer a daily guided art lesson, spend plenty of time outdoors in nearby parks, and provide campers with many, many opportunities to explore their own interests and create individualized projects.

Lastly, in early March our founder, Julia Dault, was featured on CBC’s Q radio show, where she discussed her own artwork, Hot Pizza, and how they feed into each other. You can listen to interview, read the story, and see a few images of her recent exhibition in Montreal by clicking here.
