November–December course listings!

Hi everyone,

As our roster of excellent artist/teachers grows, we’re able to offer new and exciting courses. Our November–December “semester” features five new offerings; one course with a practical new slant; and existing favorites showing up in new locations and at new times (weekend Deep Dish!).

There’s a lot to look at, so I tried to condense every course into one or two sentences. Of course, no seven-week semester of creativity and joy could ever get encompassed in so small a space. And the real story of these courses will be written by you!

A reminder that registration for kids’ courses opens next Friday, October 16, at 8 a.m. Registration for adult courses is open now!

Julia, Kelly, and I are here to answer any questions you have in the meantime. Just hit reply or send an email to [email protected].

All good things,
Brian

Adult courses

• NEW Back to Basics (Mon, 6:30–8:30 p.m., 1152 College St.). Think you're “bad at art”? This relaxed, beginner-friendly course proves otherwise—playful projects in drawing, colour, composition, oil pastels, and painting, with all materials (even a sketchbook) included. Absolutely no experience required—we got you!
• Oil Painting (Wed, 6:30–8:30 p.m., 134 Osler St.). Learn the essentials of oil painting—colour theory, composition, and application techniques—and leave with several small finished paintings. All skill levels welcome.
• Zero-Waste Sewing (Thu, 6:30–8:30 p.m., 1152 College St.). Make garments that actually fit while using nearly every scrap—from machine basics and measuring to cutting and construction, finishing a tote, a simple jacket or housecoat, and a final garment of your choice.

Made it this far? The first fifteen people to use the code LONGEMAIL on any course registration made between October 16 and October 23 will get $15 off.
