NZ Sim Racing
NZ Esports Racing Series (NZERS). 45 drivers signed up for the GT7 series and have now been split across 3 divisions. Qualifying saw many familiar names claiming their spot in the top division, including last years top 3, which you can read more about here.
The first round of the online series took place Friday Sept 6 and rather than spoil the results I’ll let you watch the recording on twitch.NZ Esports Hyperfiber League (NZEHL). 82 drivers signed up for the iRacing championship which has now been narrowed down to the 26 best. 8 drivers got automatic qualification through community nomination while 18 fought through time trials and qualifying races to make it into the series.
The 4 round championship now kicks off with race 1 on Thursday Sept 19th. Watch live on youtube.
NZ Esports ACC Qualifier (NZEAQ). 32 drivers registered for the ACC event that will see the eventual champions racing at the Global Esports Games in China. Time trial qualifiers are now complete with the top 30 moving on to the races.
Matthew McEwen was top qualifier (splitting duties across NZERS and NZEAQ) ahead of Reagan Herbert, Brandon Webley, Simon Bishop (also NZERS), and Ewan Baker (also NZEHL).
The first races are on Sept 14th 8:30pm. Watch live on youtube.Oceania F1 Invitational Qualifying Open. The invitational has done away with invitations for the 6th running of the event. This time around any Aus or NZ drivers can set a time to try qualify for the prestigious 6 race F1 24 championship. Qualifying ends Sept 29th with the first races set for Oct 8th.

Lamborghinis Super Trofeo Esports The Real Race. The ACC series is split by region with the APAC qualifying kicking off Sept 27. With the winner getting to join the Lamborghini esports team it’s set to be fiercely contested.

Gran Turismo World Series Tokyo on Sept 28th. The third stop on the 2024 calendar is set for the end of the month. Unfortunately no kiwis qualified this year but for GT fans it’s sure to be worth a watch.

New Porsche Mission R Sim Wheel. Moza announced the new wheel at Gamescom in Germany. It was one of a number of sim racing hardware announcements from the likes Corsair, Moza, and Nacon.
