  • Hugo Allan qualifies for Global Esports Games. After topping the NZ qualifiers Hugo took on Asia Pacifics best with massive success. Finishing both races second he claims one of our regions 4 spots in the Global Esports Games iRacing event in Las Angeles in December. NZ Sim Racing Collective ran a watch along event for the regional final, making NZ the only country cheering on their representative.

  • Hugo Allan and Zach Rattray-White qualify for Porsche Esports Supercup. One of iRacings premier pro series the supercup introduced a new regional qualifying format this year and two kiwis have made it through to the big leagues. We’re two rounds into the 5 round series live on youtube Sundays at 8am. There is $30k in prizes plus the winner gets a full metal Porsche Motorsport drive.

  • Motorsport New Zealand (MSNZ) announces it’s ditching esports. Following Hectics reporting on MSNZ ending it’s involvement in esports, MSNZ has sent official notice to pass holders that the program is being handed over to Motorsport Australia. The deal means kiwis can buy the Australian pass to compete in the Australia sim racing national championships, MSNZ will not endorse any NZ championships.
    The announcement was not made public but has been recorded at the bottom of this Hectic News piece.

  • Logitech McLaren G Challenge is back for it’s Winter Series. $10k in prize money will be split between the top 16 APAC drivers in this Le Mans Ultimate competition. The winner will once again also get the full McLaren meet and greet trip. Qualify runs from Sept-Jan.

  • Fans call on iRacing to release Pukekohe. iRacing laser scanned Pukekohe race track before it's closure, some 4 years ago, but there's been no news since. Now some fans are trying to gather support with a petition to push iRacing to release the track.

  • Star Wars Galactic Racer releases October 6th. The iconic pod racing from Star Wars has been reinvented in this latest high speed racing game. Coming to PC (Steam and Epic), PS5, and XBox.

  • BeamNG.drive PS5 releases October 19th. The release brings the much loved vehicle physics from the PC early access title onto consoles. set to include split screen multiplayer.

  • Race of Champions (RoC) coming to NZ in 2027. Some of the worlds best drivers, from across disciplines, will come together to race head to head in equal machinery at Race of Champions in Wellinton January 9 & 10.
