NZs Big Three Sim Racing Events Open Now
Sim Racing in NZ has kicked into high gear with the three biggest events of the year all recently announced with registration and qualifiers getting under way. With events across ACC, GT7, and iRacing NZ Esports has got most sim racing fans covered.
NZ Sim Racing - Recent Results
Team NZ Second in Tri-Nations Esports Cup. The Aussie team dominated the event with Kody Deith claiming the win in both races. He was closely followed by the UKs Matt Caruana as the kiwi drivers fought between themselves with crashes on the opening laps.
Congratulations to Stefan McCartain who finished top kiwi and picked up the Next Level Racing Haptic Feedback Pad, beating out Ewan and Blake who were close behind.
NZ Sim Racing - Big Three
NZ Esports E Blacks ACC Qualifier - Global Esports Games. NZs fastest male and female will qualify to represent New Zealand at the Global Esports Games in China, a fully paid trip, so this is one you don’t want to miss. The qualification process features racing on Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) on PC across three stages. Registration is now open and close August 28 ahead of open quals on August 29th.

NZ Esports Hyperfiber League (NZEHL). As mentioned in the last Hectic newsletter NZEHL is an iRacing championship with a $5,000 prize pool. Entries are still open with qualification also on August 29th.

NZ Esports Racing Series (NZERS). As mentioned in the last Hectic newsletter NZERS is a Gran Turismo 7 championship with an official Toyota 86 race series test drive on offer to the winner. Official qualification is complete with Matthew McEwen leading the way (setting the world record!) ahead of Caleb Birtles and Simon Bishop. Late entries are still being accepted until August 30th.

International events
Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Virtual Championship. A new competition open to drivers across iRacing, GT7, and ACC with a great prize for the winner, a test drive in a Mercedes-AMG Motorsport car. Time trial qualification runs from August 14-30 before a 6 round championship in Sept/Nov.

Taking place in Forza Motorsports time trial drivers will once again be fighting to qualify for the next step towards winning there share of $5,000 and a VIP trip to the McLaren Technology Center. This follows the first qualification event in July.
