A quick mid month Hectic update to bring you news on competitions running/starting in May.
NZ Sim Racing
NZEHL iRacing. Details are finally available with seeding starting May 27th and the first race on June 2nd. View all the info and sign up on the LetsPlay.Live website.
Computer Lounge monthly time trial. On-site in Auckland. After handing out some big prizes in previous competitions (see January & March) Computer Lounge are changing their time trial format to run all month. Their May competition is underway so head in store and set your times at Imola on F1 23. More details on their website & facebook.
X-Golf/Racing Sims $1,500 Competition. On-site in Christchurch. X-Golf have some new sim setups built by Racing Sims and they’re putting them to use for this time trial competition using iRacing that’s running throughout May. It does cost to have a go but their motion rigs are well worth giving a try and the top 3 will win big prize money. All info is on the X-Golf facebook (also pic of rigs, leaderboard)
Ferrari Esports Series. The time trial qualifying stage is underway, Assetto Corsa week 1 is complete with ACC this week and iRacing next. Entries are light in the APAC region so any kiwis getting involved will have a good chance of making it through to the races. There are prizes for top finishers and random entries. Simdy 500. Kiwi Sim Racings annual (sim) Indy 500 is back on May 26th (Entries close May 24th). The full length race will be hosted on iRacing with trophies awarded to the top finishers and $20 vouchers to a couple lucky drivers who complete over 100/175 laps. Richard Burns Rally new camera mod. The game continues to be a fan favourite and with this new mod the videos will be looking better than ever.
New Vision Gran Turismo lego set. New speed champion lego sets have been announced and they include Lamborghini’s Vision Gran Turismo, complete with GT logo. It’s the second VGT car to make the jump from Gran Turismo game to lego reality after the McLaren Solus last year.
