Quick sim racing updates
It’s the quiet new years period for sim racing in NZ with all the big 2024 events wrapped up and no new events announced. However there’s always plenty of league racing going on so check out the new Sim Racing Hub if you feel you’re missing out.
NZ Sim Racing
Kiwi in Heineken Player 0.0 Finals. After winning the NZ qualifiers (back in October) Quin Zander represented NZ in the world finals in Madrid in December. While he couldn’t come away with a result this year we might get another shot as Heineken have indicated they’re bringing the event back even bigger in 2025.
Read more. Follow Quin on insta.Global Esports Games (GEG) delayed. Kiwis Matthew McEwen and Sasha Death qualified (back in October) to represent NZ at the GEG ACC world finals in China but have been left waiting with the event delayed.
There’s very little public info except this tweet.NZ Sim Racing Hub launched. The new central place to find all things sim racing in NZ including leagues, retailers, and broadcasts.

Assetto Corsa EVO Early Access Release. The hotly anticipated game will be releasing into Early Access on PC on January 16th.
Read more. Wishlist on steam.F1 Sim Racing back in 2025. Starting January 14th the 3 event season will conclude in March (presumably before the new F1 25 game is released) and features a $750,000 prize pool.

Formula Regional Oceania starts Jan 9th. NZs most prestigious racing series is back for the usual 5 week championship in 2025 kicking things off in Taupo.
