This competition could see one kiwi jetting over to Las Angeles on an all expenses paid trip to race in the Global Esports Games iRacing division, if they can overcome the qualifying pathway.

The first step is being selected as the NZ representative and qualifying as an NZ E-Black (the New Zealand esports team). That requires making it through two phases, the open qualifier time trials that runs this weekend. Then the top 18 NZ selection races taking place Tuesday night.

Qualify as the NZ representative and you’re through to the global qualifiers. Up to 70 countries will be represented with only the top 24 going through to the live finals in Las Angeles in December. Specific details on the global qualifier and finals are yet to be released.

NZ Esports has rightfully turned to the NZ Sim Racing Collective to host the NZ iRacing qualifier events. iRacing runs alongside 6 other esports titles NZ Esports have thus far announced heading into the Global Esports Games. Those are eFootball, CS2, Rocket league, NBA2K, Mobile Legends: Bank Bank, and Clash Royale.

The NZ selection races will be live broadcast from 7:30pm Tuesday on NZ Sim Racing TV. Lets get behind our top kiwi racing talent.

  • GT NZ Championship (GTNZC) underway. Matt McEwen has been leading the way early as we’re two rounds into the six round Gran Turismo championship.
Watch live on NZ Sim Racing TV from 7:30pm Monday nights.

  • NZ Supercars depart NZ Sim Racing Collective. With NZSRC continuing to grow and connect sim racing in NZ it was an unexpected move to see one of NZs largest iRacing communities leave. Their leagues will continue but now without the support of the wider NZ sim racing community.

  • Tri-nations set for august? Motorsport UK have long advertised the iRacing Four-Nations will return in 2026 during August. In 2025 Team NZ finished 2nd with Antal Sabo leading the way. With still no details announced for 2026 it would be very esports for this event to popup last minute. Hectic News will be there to let you know when it does!
