They say a man’s health isn’t just measured by what’s in his toolbox — but who he’s got in the garage with him.

For the NZ Sim Racing Hub community, that garage happens to be online, filled with the kind of banter that only comes from mates sharing a mission. As part of Men’s Health Week this June, they’re back on the virtual grid, not just racing for podiums — but for purpose.

Born from a shared love of sim racing and a belief in something bigger, this growing New Zealand-based group has spent the past few years doing more than just shaving seconds off their lap times. They’ve been quietly building a movement—one that connects racers from all walks of life, across different platforms and countries, and steers them toward friendship, support, and sometimes, just a much-needed laugh.

“Sim racing brings people together in a way that’s kind of surprising,” says one of the organisers. “You’ve got guys who might not normally talk about how they’re doing, suddenly working as a team, solving problems, and just having fun together.”

Since launching their community-focused endurance event, they’ve raised over $20,000 for causes in the men’s and mental health space, and while the results are secondary it’s a prestigious winners list.

This year, after a year away, the Enduro for Mental Health is proud to partner with Men’s Health Week to spread awareness even further.

The main event? A five-hour endurance race on June 14 using the iRacing simulator, with teams of drivers from all over New Zealand, Australia, and beyond.

  • Date: June 14th. Practice/Qualifying from 12pm. Race stat 2pm.

  • Teams: 1 to 5 drivers

  • Platform: iRacing

  • Car: Audi GTO

  • Track: Canadian Tyre Motorsport Part (Mosport)

  • Charity: Men’s Health Week. $50 entry donation required per team.

For many, it’s not just about the thrill of the race — it’s about connection. Racing side by side with mates they’ve never met in person, building something bigger than themselves.

“There’s always someone who’s new to sim racing, or maybe just not sure where to start,” the team says. “That’s why we built this community—to make it easy to get into, ask questions, and find your tribe.”

The crew encourages newcomers to jump into the action — whether that’s by joining their social channels or heading to a local sim centre with some friends to give it a try. No pit crew required, just a love for good competition and good company.

As the countdown to race day begins, one thing is clear: these virtual racers are making a very real difference.
