Motion and action,which is which…
Hiiiii
I’m currently reading Atomic habits.A self development book basically on habits building and breaking.
I came across the difference between motion and action in chapter 11 “walk slowly, but never backward”. James clear (the Author) highlighted this chapter soo well I had to be in action as fast as I can.
What is motion?
According to James clear, when you’re in motion, you’re strategizing, planning and even learning. This is good but It doesn’t yield a single result.
Action on the other hand, is the type of behavior that will deliver an outcome.
As simple as that, if you write out 100s of content ideas, you’re in motion, you’re not doing the thing.
Doing the thing is taking action.
Like I saw on Instagram a while back, Doing the thing isn’t planning for it, instead it’s doing it. That way you are not delaying failure.
Nobody excepts you to be perfect on your first try, don’t be in be motion all your life just cause you’re afraid of failing. Bfr “DIANE”!
It’s just about showing up even when you don’t even know where it’s gon lead to.
Don’t be in motion today and start taking action.
It’s when you try, fail, learn lessons then you can try again.
It’s not about strategizing all day and having nothing to show for it except long list of strategies. It’s about taking action
This applies to me as well:).
Cheers 🥂 to new beginnings
