Hi everybody! Because of a series of interesting decisions and coincidences, I have FIVE major things all happening on Thursday of this week (the 25th). This has been a very exciting happenstance, and also tremendously stressful because I had covid for three weeks and only started testing negative a couple days ago. Basically I got knocked out for a good while and got to experience being tied to the traintracks for five simultaneous deadlines. I’m doing better now but did experience several weeks of Quarantine Madness. ANYWAYS!

Let’s talk about those five things! Some of them are surprises, but I wanna enumerate em anyways.

#1: FISH FEAR ME: WOMEN WANT ME

New FISH FEAR ME expansion! Entirely free! Big excited about this one! It’s the biggest expansion since the game’s release, featuring:

• A whole new region (The Lake of the Lady)

• 75+ new fish

• Five new meta upgrades

• Four animated cutscenes by Gwyndolyn Marchant (check out that sword up there!)

• Four new boats

• Ten new weapons

• A new song (with two variants!)

• A bunch of new game mechanics

• Tons of new achievements

• A whole new final boss fight

If that sounds like a lot: that’s because it is! I’m very excited about this one. We’ve been working on this for about five months now and it’s really gratifying to see it all come together at the end. I hope y’all like it!

#2: Official FISH FEAR ME Soundtrack

The FISH FEAR ME OST is going to be on Steam! This includes the new songs from the expansion. Wishlist it now:

Genuinely one of my great joys in working in gamedev is getting to hear Josie’s music. It’s a delight every time! Josie is one of the most talented people in the industry IMO, and she absolutely outdid herself here. The new song, KINGFISHER, rocks extremely hard.

#3: Unfair Flips

This one’s for the sickos. For those of you who missed the last newsletter, basically I had an idea for a tiny game about flipping a coin, and I put it together in a few hours when I got home, and then I posted a couple videos of it. And now one of those videos has over a hundred thousand views.

Horrifying! The Algorithm has decided that this evil little thing is going to be my Next Big Thing. So it’s also launching Thursday, because I love drama. If playing nightmare games that want to hurt you interests you, give it a wishlist!

Unfair Flips on Steam

A non-idle clicker game about flipping a coin that hates you. Starting with just a 20% chance of getting heads, can you get ten heads in a row?

It features pixel art by Gwyndolyn Marchant (who did the cutscene animations for FISH FEAR ME: WOMEN WANT ME!) and one (1) sound effect by Surasshu. You'll know it when you hear it.

My god. There is too much going on today! I thought it'd be fun to time two releases to the same day, but now in addition to those two things there are SEVERAL other things all happening at once. I'd apologize, but I'm the only one suffering here. It'll be fun for y'all!

That's it for this time! There is not a secret sixth thing, unless I've forgotten something massive. Covid did obliterate my brain for a while there, so it’s not entirely out of the question, but I’m pretty sure this is everything. I hope.
