Getting Ready for Church: Quinquagesima Sunday
God’s blessings as you prepare for church tomorrow!
Tomorrow is Quinquagesima Sunday (Latin for about 50 days before Easter). This week our readings center around faith, love, prayer, and sight.
A quick update on my health: I’m feeling better than I was when I was in the hospital, but still not 100%. I’m waiting for some test results to come back and will probably be seeing a cardiologist. I’m going to be at church tomorrow so that I can bring you God’s Word and Jesus’ Body and Blood. Lord willing, reading and preaching will go okay, but I will be speaking rather than singing most of my parts of the liturgy.
Getting ready for church:
- Here is a link to the readings and prayers for the service tomorrow.
- Here is a link to a sermon by Martin Luther on the Gospel reading.
- Here is a link to a song written by J.S. Bach on the Gospel reading for tomorrow. Here is a copy of the English translation of the song.
Don’t forget:
This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. We will begin our journey into Lent this Wednesday with Divines Service at 6pm.
See you at church in the morning!
In Christ, Pastor Sherman
