Music Monday is dead. Long live Music anytime we bloomin’ well like.

The thing about a newsletter is there is just so much stuff happening that waiting a week can seem just too long, so instead we’ll likely be publishing more often and doing a round-up. Hurrah!

Also after a long think about Made in Norway, we’ve decided to expand it to become Made Nordic.

There’s just so much brilliant music going on that while we’ll remain obsessed with Norwegian artists, we'll be taking a deeper dive into the sounds and industry around Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Sweden plus the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland where we can.

This week we’re also shaking up the format a bit to try and make it a bit easier to not just find things, but help promote your events and activities more. Let us know what you think. Meantime, thanks for following!

⛷Thirty years after they rocked their way from Dundee into the big time Snow Patrol are back with a new single ‘All’ and forthcoming album new album The Forest Is The Path available on pre-sale now ahead of its September 13 release. Today they have released a video filmed at Thomond Park Stadium in Limerick last month to go with the new track, showing they have lost none of their lyrical charm and resonance.

🍓This Wednesday see's the long awaited and hugely exciting official world-wide premiere of Since Yesterday: The Untold Story of Scotland's Girl Bands at the 77th Edinburgh International Film Festival. A list of further screenings is available at this link.

🚀 The Colour of Space is the name of the debut album by LUSA with pre-orders receiving immediate downloads of recent singles Probably and Play Hats before release day on September 6.

🌤 "It's a song that represents having your head in the clouds. Yet, at the same time, having that niggling doubt in the back of your mind which you choose to ignore," says Glasgow musician Sara Rae of her all too catchy summer indie rock anthem Meet Me There which is out now.

🪨 Indie folk-rock singer Moteh Parrott is set to release his debut album ‘The Stones are Merely Sleeping’ on September 6, influenced by a range of artists including Frightened Rabbit, Elbow, Laura Marling and Bon Iver, and with a deep conne ction to themes of environmental justice and world events. With two singles already released – Moth to the Flame and Seven Generations – the latest single ‘Undertow’, named after the strong current which moves below the surface water, will be out on Friday.

Record of the Week

👻 Ghost is the, gorgeous, haunting new track from moskulsa, aka Donegal-born visual artist Lou Rowland (main photo) now based in Glasgow and the first track to be taken from her forthcoming new EP ‘lovely people here, but it's just not the same’ due out in October. It has that late night summer club vibe that would be equally at home on some cool TV show. We love it. Frankly, glorious.

🌸 The Blossoms have lined up a gig in Glasgow for October.

🏥 If you can think about heading along to see Hospital Corner along with Sonder and The Chosen Lonely who we met recently at Beladrum, this Friday at the Hug and Pint in Glasgow. It’s part of the endless summer project and also hospcorner’s first ever full band show through there. Details at the link.

🤩 Seven piece The Joy Hotel say tickets are going fast for their Queen Margaret Union gig in Glasgow this December.
