50th Anniversary Celebration

Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 10 at 4:00pm. Good Shepherd will have a special worship service to celebrate 50 years of God's grace. Good Shepherd's founding pastor, Rev. David Scherbarth, will be preaching. Following the service, we will have a meal outdoors. The meal will feature a pig-roast and seating will be under a tent.

A Vision for Good Shepherd

Good Shepherd is a church that embodies the words and actions of Jesus. As a family of believers, we share joys and successes, hardships and pain. We rely on one another and pray for each other when we need help or guidance. We encourage one another in the faith and lovingly point out error, offering forgiveness to each other. Our relationships will be strengthened through regular fellowship opportunities in which we share our interests and build each other up. Each person is essential for our fellowship together, so we strive to attend these opportunities.

5 Year Goals:

  • Develop a church care plan which offers support to members in their trials and celebrates with them in their highs.

  • Update to a Church Management Software which has more modern resources so that member connectedness can be better facilitated.

  • Have a fellowship gathering every six weeks with a mix of larger and smaller gatherings hosted both on our campus and in people’s homes.

Sunday Morning Bible Study

An illustration of four men and women taking to each other. Below the illustration is the text "Men & Women in Christ"

What God teaches regarding men and women has been controversial since the fall into sin. But now Christians face new challenges. Gender is a hot-button issue. Hierarchical relations in the home, the church, and workplace can be tools of abuse. Christians need clarity on what God teaches about men and women as well as their God-given roles. In this study we will learn what the Bible says about gender, how men and women are to serve together in the home and the church, and how we can show the beauty of these teachings in our roles today.

Upcoming Sunday

In Jesus’ day, some thought he was John the Baptist or the prophet Elijah. Their opinion of Jesus was high, but it wasn’t close enough. Today many people believe Jesus was a wise teacher or even a role model to follow. Their opinion of Jesus is high, but not close enough. Jesus is Lord and Savior–he is the son of God. This is the message which the ambiguous church proclaims.
