Good Shepherd Weekly 8/2
A Vision for Good Shepherd
Equipped as a team of Christian witnesses, we bravely step out of our comfort zone to build relationships with neighbors, coworkers, or acquaintances. In each relationship we look for opportunities to share the hope that we have in Christ. We strive to better understand our community and to act on opportunities to reach our diverse population. We will be a well-known gospel-centered presence in the community. To fulfill the Great Commission we do evangelism work not just for Good Shepherd but for God’s kingdom at large.
5 Year Goals:
- Become an active and known entity in our local community.
- Pursue a ministry enhancement through WELS for Spanish outreach in the Pawtucket area.
- Hold a yearly outreach event in the summer which utilizes some outside volunteers to help staff the event.
- Encourage a kingdom mindset so that first and foremost God’s kingdom is served by our evangelism efforts.
- Provide annual training to equip our membership for personal evangelism in their own communities.

Sunday Morning Bible Study
What God teaches regarding men and women has been controversial since the fall into sin. But now Christians face new challenges. Gender is a hot-button issue. Hierarchical relations in the home, the church, and workplace can be tools of abuse. Christians need clarity on what God teaches about men and women as well as their God-given roles. In this study we will learn what the Bible says about gender, how men and women are to serve together in the home and the church, and how we can show the beauty of these teachings in our roles today.
Upcoming Sunday
The hardest times to trust in God are the times we need him most. It’s easy to trust God when your job is great, your health is fine, your relationships are strong, your family is well. But what happens when your life is suddenly overshadowed by dark days? Even In those days ordinary Christian are provided for by God himself.
