Good Shepherd Weekly 8/14
Welcome Home

On Sunday, September 8 at 10am we will celebrate Welcome Home Sunday. The church is not just a place but it is a gathering of people around God’s Word and Sacraments. We will be celebrating all the gifts God gives through this gathering of people. This gathering is intended to be like a well at which an individual can receive refreshment. It is supposed to be a gathering that one returns to after a hard week in order to receive comfort. It should be a gathering that gives us the right direction in a world full of options. In short, God wants the church to be like home. We want to pack the house, the goal is to have 100% of our members in worship that day. After service the celebration will continue around a meal together. Please, set aside that date and join your brothers and sisters in Christ!

Sunday 9am Bible Study
Misquoted
"I can do all things." "The truth will set you free." "I know the plans I have for you." All of these are quotations from Scripture. All of these are quoted by people with good intentions. However, very often they are quoted out of context and as a result misapplied. What can result is confusion, misunderstanding, and even worse false hope. In this Bible study we will look at some of the most quoted Bible passages and put them back into proper context so that we can grow in understanding, appreciation, and hope.
Upcoming Sunday

Join us for our seven-week sermon series, "Psalms of Summer," starting on July 21. The book of Psalms is a book of the Bible that is a collection of songs which offer readers insight into the world around them, deep personal reflections, and encouragement for faith. Over the next eight weeks, we will dive into a selection of these beautiful songs, including the comforting lyrics of Psalm 23, the praise anthem of Psalm 145, the steadfast assurance of Psalm 46, the joyful chorus of Psalm 34, the reflective reverence of Psalm 111, and the profound verses of Psalm 119. These spiritual songs will refresh your spirit and inspire your faith. Come and listen to the perfect soundtrack, not just for summer, but for all of life.
