A Vision for Good Shepherd

As we get ready to celebrate our congregation's 50th anniversary we've been considering this question: What do we need to do today, to ensure that there will be another celebration at Good Shepherd 50 years from now? Over the past year, the strategic planning committee has looked to answer that question by developing a five year plan. Over the coming weeks the various parts of this plan will unveiled:

  • Sunday, July 30 - Evangelism

  • Sunday, August 6 - Discipleship

  • Sunday, August 13 - Worship

  • Sunday, August 20 - Fellowship

Joshua Koelpin Installation & Ordination

The Board for Home Missions approved funding for a mission church in Boston. Joshua Koelpin, who recently graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary has been assigned to his new mission plant. The service for his ordination and installation will be on Sunday, August 6 at 6:00pm. A reception will follow the service.  The service will be held at the Fenway Community Center which is located at 1282 Boylston St. #123.

50th Anniversary Celebration

Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 10 at 4:00pm. Good Shepherd will have a special worship service to celebrate 50 years of God's grace. Good Shepherd's founding pastor, Rev. David Scherbarth, will be preaching. Following the service, we will have a meal outdoors. The meal will feature a pig-roast and seating will be under a tent.

Bible Study Wednesday AM

On Wednesday at 10:30am there will be a theological study at Good Shepherd. This study series will provide a range of biblical and practical courses available to help you grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. The purpose of these studies is to train qualified and confident leaders and volunteers within our congregation. We will begin with a study on Law & Gospel.

Sunday Morning Bible Study

An illustration of four men and women taking to each other. Below the illustration is the text "Men & Women in Christ"

What God teaches regarding men and women has been controversial since the fall into sin. But now Christians face new challenges. Gender is a hot-button issue. Hierarchical relations in the home, the church, and workplace can be tools of abuse. Christians need clarity on what God teaches about men and women as well as their God-given roles. In this study we will learn what the Bible says about gender, how men and women are to serve together in the home and the church, and how we can show the beauty of these teachings in our roles today.

Upcoming Sunday

We are given an opportunity to consider what really matters in life. We may be tempted to say family, friends, or finances. But each of these things can be lost. However God’s Wisdom lasts forever. His wisdom grants us faith to believe his proimses and gives us the ability to discern what is right and what is wrong and what truly matters and what pales in comparison.
