Good Shepherd Weekly 6/28

New Sermon Series Starts this Sunday

There are wide and varying thoughts on what a Christian should be like and what they should do. Some think that Christians should focus only on helping individual’s physical needs. Others think that all that matters are spiritual things. However, in this series, Jesus himself describes what every day Christians are like and what they do.

Summer Reading Plan

Get into Scripture this summer with this 30 day reading plan. This reading plan will guide you through the Gospel of Mark, which is also the book which we are working through during Wednesday Evening Bible Study. We will pause our Bible study for the summer, but your personal study of Mark doesn't have to. Mark is an action packed book in which the author shows you that Jesus is both the Son of God and your Savior by letting his deeds speak for themselves. Though it is the shortest of the four Gospels it is able to profoundly affect the way you view Jesus and follow after him. Download the reading guide here.

Sunday Morning Bible Study

What God teaches regarding men and women has been controversial since the fall into sin. But now Christians face new challenges. Gender is a hot-button issue. Hierarchical relations in the home, the church, and workplace can be tools of abuse. Christians need clarity on what God teaches about men and women as well as their God-given roles. In this study we will learn what the Bible says about gender, how men and women are to serve together in the home and the church, and how we can show the beauty of these teachings in our roles today.

Upcoming Sunday

Ordinary Christians love God above all things. Nations rise and fall. Relationships flourish then fail. Something is accomplished and then it is forgotten. In contrast, God’s love is forever. God is eternal. And the eternal love acts on his forever love by promising Christians life forever with him. So every day Christians fight to not only avoid loving bad things, but they fight to love God above all other good things too.
