Confirmation Sunday

On Sunday May 26 we will get to celebrate the confirmations of Elizabeth and Abigail Schmeling. God has commanded us to instruct children and adults in his truth. The rite of confirmation stresses the importance of Christian instruction and continuing in God’s Word. This instruction both Abby and Elizabeth have received imparts the basic teachings of Christianity and provides the knowledge necessary for growth toward Christian maturity. Catechism instruction lays a foundation upon which the Christian will build for a lifetime. The rite of confirmation also gives those being confirmed the opportunity to publicly confess their faith before the congregation as the enter a more mature life in the church.

Sunday 9am Bible Study

Foundations

Foundations is an introduction to Biblical and confessional Lutheran theology. That might sound overwhelming but it's not. In each class we will answer one core question of life and then we will see how the Bible answers that question. If you have been a Christian for while, this is a class for you. If you want to know what our church teaches, this is the class for you. Because in this class you will be given the solid foundation of Jesus' teaching.

Upcoming Sunday

Jesus promised his church the outpouring of the Holy Spirit because that is what would give the church strength and power. Through the words of Scripture our eyes have been opened, our ears opened wide, and we have been taken from death the life. This happened because the Spirit is at work. And now we don’t just speak empty words but because the Spirit is working through them we speak words that can bring people to spiritual life. Not only has the Spirit made us alive, but having been made alive the Spirit adopted us into the family of GOd.The Spirit keeps testifying, he testifies to all who have been made alive are God’s children. We have a Spirit made life.
