Good Shepherd Weekly 4/25
English Improvement Class Training
On Saturday, April 27 from 9-3pm Pastor Tim Flunker will return to Good Shepherd to guide us through reaching out to the Spanish speaking community and to train us to provide English Improvement Opportunities. You do not need any understanding of Spanish to be trained because these classes model conversational English. There will be an information session, a break for lunch which will provided, and then training. Our Evangelism Committee wants to utilize these Opportunities to cast a wider net as we seek to share Jesus in our area. If you are at all interested, even if you just want to learn more, sign up on the for the April 27 session. The sign up sheet is on the bulletin board in the fellowship area.
Crawl to the Cross 2024

Our 3rd annual Crawl to the Cross will take place on April 28 after the service. Everyone is welcome to join us and spend a couple of hours with your fellow Christians driving radio-controlled trucks around our beautiful church property.
This year’s event will be similar but different from previous years. We will start again with a light lunch and the drivers’ meeting to give last-minute instructions. There will be different courses like before, but this time there will be no judges and competition for medals, just you enjoying yourself as you drive around and complete the challenges. Some of the trails have changed and a FPV challenge has been added to give you a totally new driving experience.
Lunch will be provided, but please sign up on the bulletin board to let us know you plan to attend. All are invited to stay and eat, even if you don’t plan to drive. And bring sturdy shoes since some of the trails are in the woods around the church; after all, you are off-roading with the little trucks.
Please talk to Reinhard with any questions.
Memorial Day at the Goetzingers
Pastor and Sarah will host a Memorial Day open house at their home. If you are free Memorial Day come for the afternoon and stay into the evening for fellowship, food, and encouragement. The open house starts at 3:00pm at the parsonage. There will be snacks and drink. Pastor will light the grill and dinner and sides will be served later in the day. To help with planning, if you are able to come please sign up on the red bulletin board in the entry way.
Sunday 9am Bible Study
Foundations

Foundations is an introduction to Biblical and confessional Lutheran theology. That might sound overwhelming but it's not. In each class we will answer one core question of life and then we will see how the Bible answers that question. If you have been a Christian for while, this is a class for you. If you want to know what our church teaches, this is the class for you. Because in this class you will be given the solid foundation of Jesus' teaching.
Upcoming Sunday

The Apostle John once wrote, “The life appeared, we have seen it and testify to it.” Notice that he says THE life. There is one true life. The life isn’t just the good life or the best life. The life isn't only a way of life, though it certainly gives a way of life. The life that appeared is Jesus Christ who was raised from the dead. He appeared to change everything. He appeared to silence death. He appeared to give you eternal life, true life, and a life that finds strength in him. Yes, THE life appeared and he even gives you a new way of life.
