Easter Sunday Breakfast

Join us early on Easter morning for breakfast beginning at 8:30am. We'll be slinging breakfast sandwiches and serving up fruit parfaits and pastries. If you plan to attend, please add your name and headcount to the signup sheet posted. For those who would like to contribute to the meal, you can sign up for one of the items posted or speak with Katie Otto directly.

Easter Sunday Easter Egg Hunt

After service on Easter we will be hosting an easter egg hunt for kids. Baskets will be provided and kids will be able to go on the hunt for eggs.

Singing for Good Friday and Easter

A choir will be formed to sing two different pieces--one for Good Friday and one for Easter. If you are interested in singing for either or both of these services please plan to meet after service on Sunday, March 12 to rehearse.

Wednesday Lent Services

Lent services continue tonight at 7pm. All four gospels record the event in Gethsemane when the high priest’s servant’s ear is cut off. Only John gives us names—Peter and Malchus. Our attention now is drawn to Gethsemane that night Judas betrays Jesus as Peter cuts off the ear of Malchus. The chief priests, scribes, Judas, and Peter all seek power and control of the situation. Jesus—the only one with true power and authority—lays it down, as He also does with His life itself. In His resurrection, Jesus will take up His life again, reclaiming His power, control, and authority that extends throughout the earth and heavens.

Lenten Devotional

Our Lent devotion guide also has videos walking you through each devotion. If you haven't started already, it's not too late. You can download the devotion guide here: https://bit.ly/Lent23Devotion You an access can archive of each video here: https://bit.ly/WitnessestoChristVids

LWMS Spring Rally

On Saturday, April 15, Good Shepherd is blessed to host the Spring Rally for the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society (LWMS).  We are in the process of changing the name “Rally” to “Hearts in Motion” because that is the perfect description of the LWMS.  Hearts moved to serve our missionaries and our missions around the world!!

This will run from 9-3 on April 15. Our guest speaker will be Pastor Timothy Walsh from Grace of God in Dix Hills, NY. Thai Village products will be on display and available for purchase.

The commitments from our ladies is supplying continental brunch items as the ladies are arriving and registering.  And also a lunch.  Table decorations and and set up are taken care of, however we usually have some kind of “take away” from each event, and if anyone has any artistic idea or fun Spring or mission themed item to have at each table setting let me know.

Please mark this on your calendar to attend!  If you weren’t able to make the annual convention last summer in Rochester, this is a mini version right here at our church. If you would like to help out in any way, please let Debbie Giovinazzo know.

Upcoming Sunday

In survival it is called “The Rule of Threes”--You can survive three minutes without breathable air. You can survive three hours in a harsh environment without shelter. You can survive three days without drinkable water. You can survive three weeks without food. Everyone has a deep spiritual thirst. We are longing for soemething greater. Some try to satisfy the thirst with things found in this fleeting world. But Jesus said, “Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.” Only Jesus can quench our spiritual thirst.
