February Growth Group
Date and Time: Friday Febraury 17, 2023 Fellowship begins at 6:30PM with Bible Study at 7PM.
Location: Normandin Residence – 229 Woodbine St. Cranston, RI
Growth Groups are designed to be a laid back and casual way of connecting with Christian friends who care about God and each other. In our growth groups we pray together and study the Scriptures together. We add in some food and fellowship and maybe even some good laughs together because we want to build up Christian friendships. Growth Groups are a fun and healthy way of growing spiritually as well as enriching our relationships with other members.

New Wednesday Evening Bible Study
A new Wednesday Evening Bible Study on the book of Jonah will start this Wednesday, February 1 at 7:00pm. In Jonah we meet a man who is running away from God's mission given to him and his grace. As we study the life of Jonah we will examine and confront the runaway heart that beats inside all of us. We will also see that God's grace pursues runaways.
New Hymnal Order
Good Shepherd will be placing an order for some extra hymnals. If you would like a hymnal for your personal use, we will make sure to order one for you when we place the order. Hymnals cost $24.00. A check can be made out to Good Shepherd and placed in the offering plate. A sign up sheet is on the bulletin board in the fellowship area.
Upcoming Sunday
As Jesus continues his Sermon on the Mount, he makes a crucial point that not all his followers (including present day followers) understand well. Jesus came to free us from sin. He did not come to free us to sin. God commands that we live a holy life. He provides dire warnings to remind us just how holy he wants us to be. Today we face a rapid decline in public morals and private piety. Yet, Jesus calls his followers to be different.
After examining our lives, we can only despair over our lack of holiness. So, we flee to Christ who loves us despite our failures and who sacrificed himself for unholy people. Secure in his grace and empowered by the Holy Spirit, each day we strive to live the holy lives to which we have been called.
