Good Shepherd Weekly 2/4

Ash Wednesday Service & Soup Supper

Lent is just around the corner. On Wednesday, February 14 we will celebrate Ash Wednesday. Service will start at 7pm. We will also have a soup supper before the service at 6pm. A signup for food and other items is on the bulletin board in the fellowship area.

Puzzle and Game Give-a-way

It's time to dust off those old board games and completed puzzles you've got at home and bring them to church on Sunday 2/18.  Puzzles and games that you wish to donate will be put out on tables for other members to take home. This is a fun way to find something entertaining to do at home this winter with a new game or a challenging puzzle.  After that they are yours to keep. Even if you don't have any to donate, everyone is welcome to take something home. Refreshments will also be served so make plans to stay for fellowship along with the game and puzzle give-a-way.

Musical Talents

As part of our 5-Year Strategic Plan, one of our goals is to utilize the variety of our member's musical talents in worship. If you have interest in contributing to our services as a soloist, part of a duet or quartet, or through playing an instrument, please contact Katie Otto.

Foundations

Foundations is an introduction to Biblical and confessional Lutheran theology. That might sound overwhelming but it's not. In each class we will answer one core question of life and then we will see how the Bible answers that question. If you have been a Christian for while, this is a class for you. If you want to know what our church teaches, this is the class for you. Because in this class you will be given the solid foundation of Jesus' teaching.

Upcoming Sunday

Jesus has to be the very Son of God! Yet, Jesus looked so normal, like an ordinary carpenter or your average rabbi or just another prophet. Until today. Today, on the Mount of Transfiguration, Jesus gives us a glimpse of his true glory. As we see him in his dazzling brilliance, the Father speaks again, this time to us: “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!” Jesus prepares us for the journey of Lent where we will witness the most glorious work that Jesus would do.
