Good Shepherd Weekly 11/27
Christmas Decorating
The Christmas season is quickly approaching and we would like to beautify the sanctuary and building. Decorating will take place Saturday December 2 at 9am. If you are available that morning please consider lending a helping hand! Coffee and breakfast sandwiches will be served.
Advent by Candlelight
Our annual Advent by Candlelight service will be held on Wednesday, December 6. If you are interested in attending please RSVP by emailing Debbie Giovinazzio (dgiovinazzo88@gmail.com). Advent by Candlelight is an opportunity for sharing a meal together as well as a time to start preparing our hearts and minds for Christmas. We will start the meal at 6:00pm and the service will begin around 7:00pm (dependent upon how quickly folks finish eating!). The service will feature a series of brief devotions, readings, and advent songs.
Card for Jon Siegler
Just a reminder that we will be mailing Jonathan Siegler, who is stationed in Poland in an administrative position, a package in the next week as a “Thank you for your Service” surprise gift. If you would like to contribute, below are a few things he likes. Feel free to include any other items you think he might like! Jon is a Major in the US Army. If you have any questions, see Diane Gray.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study Resumes
Wednesday Evening Bible study on Zoom resumes this week on Wednesday, November 29. We will pick up our study in Mark 8 where Jesus feeds 4000 (yes, 4000 not 5000!), teaches his disciples, and heals a blind man. Mark gets to the point in his book when he wrote in the first verse, “The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God.” That’s the last time he’ll give you his opinion of Jesus. He will show you what Jesus did. Mark includes more of Jesus’ miracles than the other gospel writers. He shows you that Jesus is on the move from Galilee to Jerusalem where he will die and rise again. He lets you watch Jesus and listen to him so that you can experience him for yourself. Mark shares these precious memories of Jesus, so that you too can be drawn into his story and share in his joy.
Sunday Morning Bible Study

The beginning of something is important. That is especially true when it comes to the Bible. Genesis is foundational to the whole Bible, and to every human life. Genesis tells us who God is, who we are, how things went wrong, and the plan that God has put in place to return the earth to the way it was meant to be.
Upcoming Sunday

Waiting can be hard, especially if you’re not sure if the waiting is not going to pay off. God certainly calls on you to wait and to watch for the coming of Jesus. But to give you confidence that his good news is worth the wait he gives you every spiritual gift now. He ensures you that though millennia have passed, he will act on your behalf.
