Good Shepherd Weekly 11/12
Food Drive for Hebron Food Pantry
With the current government shut-down and suspension of SNAP benefits, many in our community are in need. If you are able, please bring non-perishable food items or personal hygiene items to Good Shepherd so that we can make a donation to Hebron Food Pantry—an Attleboro based food pantry. The deadline is Sunday, November 16. Here are some guidelines:
We often get asked what we need at the pantry, and our rule of thumb is simple: donate the items you would want to use yourself! In addition to the typical staples like pasta, rice, canned vegetables, and beans, we always have a high demand for the following:
For Meals
Spices (salt, pepper, garlic powder, etc.), oils, and cooking sprays, Pancake mix, boxed cakes, and brownies, Baking essentials (flour, sugar, baking soda), Granola bars, crackers, cookies, and fruit snacks, BBQ sauce, ketchup, mustard, dressings, and marinades
For Personal Care
Diapers (sizes 6 and 7), pull-ups, and wipes, Toilet paper, paper towels, and feminine hygiene products, Toothpaste, mouthwash, and bar soap
Laundry and dish soap

This Sunday

The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod is 175 years old this year? We rejoice that over the past 175 years, our Savior has taken our synod from three congregations in the greater Milwaukee area to more than 1,200 congregations across North America, from one seminary in 1865 to a four school ministerial education system, and from one world mission in 1893 to conducting and encouraging gospel outreach in 49 countries and exploring opportunities in 16 other fields.
Sunday AM Bible Study

From beginning to end Scripture describes how God rules over his creation. God’s rule—in power, in grace, and someday in glory—is called his kingdom. The kingdom of God is one of the most beautiful truths of Scripture and nearly every chapter in the Bible teaches something about it. To understand God’s kingdom is to understand why God sent his Son and to understand the great hope Christian’s have. This course will address the following: What Is the Kingdom?, The Kingdom Revealed by God's Prophets, The Kingdom In the Works and Words of Jesus, The Kingdom In Jesus' Parables, Confronting Fallen Mankind, In the Ministry of His Apostles, Encountering Satan's Hostility, and Anticipating What's Ahead, Concentrating on Now.
