Garrett Street Archive - Update
This is a quick update about the Museum of Garrett Street project.
Kia ora!
This is a quick update about the Museum of Garrett Street project.
Last month we held a fundraising gig to raise money for the archive and it was very successful.
Our fundraising goal was: $973.54. We raised: $1,455.23 (!!)
With that cash we’ve been able to:
• buy three brand new (rugged) hard drives.

• buy this faux-vintage audio-message-recording phone, which will live at Garrett Street, so that visitors can pick up the receiver and contribute a spoken memory to the archive any time.

• Cover the costs of web hosting / domain / and file transfer services through til Matariki 2026
Oh and over the course of the evening we collected at least 20 interviews about the space. We will use some of the remaining cash to get those interviews transcribed.
WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED IF YOU WANT:
Submit photos or videos or stories to the archive.
Print Out and give away copies of our informative zine. Designed by Amber Clausner with additional artwork by Milo. Print it on A4 paper, double-sided, and fold it into an 8-page mini zine.
More to come. Mercury has just gone retrograde so stay safe out there.
