Any questions or concerns you have, he’ll answer or find out the answer. The available accessibility procedures, your current wait time to ride, he'll let you know! He’ll also give you the free Game Developer Carousel badge ribbon that Mark DeLoura got you!
Your carousel benefactor, Seg, will still be at the carousel! I’ll swap with Ryan for his breaks throughout the day. Because we all value labor at the Game Developer Carousel.
Time at the Game Developer Conference is limited, so it means a lot when you spend some of that time on the carousel. Ryan, the staff at the Children’s Creativity Museum, and I will make sure we run this carousel efficiently and safely so you can experience the joy of riding your steed or chariot.
Why a Line Manager?
For many years, my nights and weekend art job included house manager for immersive theatre. For last year's GDCarosuel, I couldn’t help but managing the line to streamline operations. My first time working as a house manager since lockdowns; I couldn’t bring myself away!
The carousel operators were extremely grateful. To insure everyone’s safety, the operators need to focused on the carousel. GDCarousel is one of the largest one-day riderships in the carousel’s history. Having another person focus on the boarding process saved a lot of operational time, which means more riders per hour.
However… I didn’t allow myself to fully enjoy GDCarousel. I didn’t spend nearly enough time riding with everyone. That’s why I asked Ryan to make sure operations runs smooth. He's the most trusted person I know in house management (that isn’t me, of course 😉)
