Greetings,

We're looking forward to gathering with many Porchers this October 9 and 10 in Indianapolis to encourage each other in our efforts to cultivate the arts of neighborliness. We have a strong lineup of speakers: Patrick Deneen, Jeff Polet, Jeanne Schindler, Joanna Taft, Alexandra Hudson, Amber Lapp, Robb Greene, Hunter Smith, Jeremy Beer, Jason Peters, and--of course--Bill Kauffman.

But the best part of these gatherings is always the conversations they spark. At last year's conference in Waco, someone who was at her first FPR conference told me, “I think I’ve found my people.” And a regular told me afterward, “I always feel more centered after the day and half spent with the FPR family.” That's why we organize these conferences; reading about localism online is one thing, but gathering in person, in a place, creates and renews life-giving friendships.
