Dog hairs, Imposter Syndrome and Google
Dog hairs, Imposter Syndrome and Google
Foreword: For any newcomers, this is my monthly newsletter in which I will hopefully give an insight into my practice, projects and inspirations.
Not much to tell you about this month, as I've been keeping my head down with some new, exciting and imposter syndrome inducing projects. Also, I took care of a dog with contiguous anxiety and as cuddly as it was, it left me exhausted and itchy. Hence, this will be short and sweet.
This month I took part in Ars Electronica Festival with a collaborative project I'm part of called Googless. It's a project developed to draw attention to how omnipresent Google is on our 'free' and 'open' internet, as part of a CODE Nl-D residency (see the July Newsletter for more info). Anyway, we are creating a really frustrating plugin for your browser that lets you experience the internet without Google and hopefully annoys you into activism. Check out our Video Presentation here, and keep up to date with the project here.
In other tech-related news, I've been really enjoying the WSJxGimlet's 'The Facebook Files' podcast, a somewhat shocking/obvious expose of Facebooks internal discussions, research and flaccidness regarding their platform's dark sides.
Quick film dump: Minari, cried lots, smiled lots, was beautiful. The Tribe, horrifying and incredible, also beautiful. Pig, John Wick for Chefs, didn't blow me away. Blue Velvet, much better than I expected.
That's all from me, hope you have a great month.
