Got questions about past Merely Roleplayers productions? ðŸŽ
All right, luvvies? As of last week, I now work four days a week instead of five at my day job, to give me more time to work on the kinds of projects I talk about here: audio drama, actual play, performance and so on. I'm still in the adjustment period, getting used to the new routine and working out a new best way to manage my time, but you can hopefully expect more news, more progress and more exciting things to see and/or hear and/or buy from me from now on.
That's my main news, to be honest - think this'll be a short one this month.
Coming right up

I hope you've enjoyed this lewd, morbid story. If you haven't caught any of it yet, now's the time to binge all three acts (just like most of the characters in it would tend to binge things...)
Next up in Merely Roleplayers, we've got:
15 Nov: Monumental Exit post-show comedown
22 Nov: Replay: Five Stage a Rescue, continuing our look back at our early productions
29 Nov: Vigil: All Aboard, kicking off the next installment of our Monster of the Week story
We'll be taking a break the weeks of 20 and 27 December, so All Aboard will cliffhang after Act 2, and pick back up again on 3 January.
Got questions about any Merely Roleplayers production from Parallax onwards? Send them as a reply to this email and we'll try to answer them in future Replay episodes!
Sharpen your sword
for September 2023. I've written something for a semi-secret, semi-joke project by a creator I admire, and I'm excited for it to come to life ... in nearly a year, lol. Stay tuned for news on this when it becomes available!
The second Interactive Soup
is at 6pm on Tuesday 6 December at Theatre Deli, Leadenhall Street, London.
That's right: the experiment worked, so we decided to do another one!
In October, the soup raised £280, which the attendees voted to give to Jonathan Oldfield for tech he needed to develop a show called One Way Mirror. Also, there was so. much. soup. Everyone had seconds and thirds and there were takeaway cups being offered round at the end. I'm surprised no one went home with pockets full of the stuff. I don't think any went to waste, but it was a risk - and one you can help avoid happening again by coming along this time!
What are you saying?
Left: a button badge showing a close-up of the face of a wet-haired toddler wearing swimming goggles. This was part of a pack of badges a stock photography company sent my day job years ago, with random pictures from their library on them. Trying to think whether I've ever actually worn it and what statement it would make...
Right: a dark green button badge with a number 5 in a white pentagon on it. This is from the Five Points Brewing Co - it caught my eye out of the collection this time because I was ordering a pint of their Jupa in a noisy pub last week, and when the bartender couldn't hear "Jupa" I tried "the Five Points" and the response was "you want five pints?" Sigh. I can never seem to make myself understood in a crowded environment - must be something about the frequency of my voice.
Like the podcast, I'm taking a break in December, so look out for your next Foggy Outline newsletter on the second Friday of January.
Play on,
Matt x
