After all this time, it got me
All right, luvvies? This is probably going to be a shorter one: after two years of dodging, the rona finally landed a hit on me, and I'm still recovering. Which means that a) I've done less stuff that I can tell you about and b) I have less energy to write this.
If you're still dodging, and feeling like it's futile because everyone around you has gone back to acting like nothing's wrong, let me reassure you it definitely is still worth it to try your best not to catch this thing! I hardly got any of the symptoms I was most afraid of (bad cough, raw throat, headache), but I do still feel like I've been kicked in the breastbone a week after coming down with it. My assessment: avoid if at all possible.

The Feed
is a Merely Roleplayers video series, where Josh, Ellen and I play Big Brother housemates, except the house is not just reality TV weird, it's supernatural weird.
My character, burned out Year 9 teacher Malcolm Cummings, has not yet realised there's weirdness going on.

It occurs to me that this is the first bit of physical acting I've done ... probably since graduating. I performed in Lights Out last Hallowe'en, but that was a game master-type role, not acting a character. And I play characters on Merely Roleplayers all the time, but purely vocally.
It was probably a good idea to ease myself back into it with a character who basically just wants a rest. It's like I unconsciously covid-proofed the role.
Subscribe to Merely Roleplayers on Youtube and activate notifications - then you'll get pinged whenever there's a new episode of The Feed to enjoy. If you like, you can get into character as the audience at home watching a series of Big Brother that starts going odd places, and share your thoughts as comments on the videos! We'll be keeping an eye on comments - who knows, yours could help to shape the story.
Things ticking over
Sound design continues on Vigil: Quarry
Making bits and bobs of progress on the Project Tallneck pilot episode when I feel up to it (still haven't got a proper working title for it, damn)
Had an email the other week, and sent a reply, related to In Your Benevolence, which was unexpected and ... not exciting, exactly, I wouldn't go that far just yet, but it was certainly more news than I expected to have about that project this month!

Left: a purple coffin enamel pin that says "You Tried" on it, from Bone Daddy. (I did. I really did.)
Right: a dark red enamel pin of a heart formed from hugging arms, from The Physician's Sketchbook. (Trying to take good care of my heart this month.)
Play on,
