Bonus Episode: 2024 with Alissa Wilkinson
A podcast about the great movies.

In what has become an annual tradition, we welcome back our good friend, New York Times film critic Alissa Wilkinson, to look back at the movie year we just finished — without the benefit of hindsight! Hear Alissa and Mike geek out about Eno, our conversation on the first-person camera of Nickel Boys, everyone falling for Anora, and more.
Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast, Google Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Evil Does Not Exist is streaming on the Criterion Channel and available for digital rental or purchase; it was also just released on Blu-ray. Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat is currently in theaters; it will be out on Blu-ray (and, presumably, for digital rental or purchase) on January 7th.

Anora is available for digital purchase. Eno is a little tricky to stream, as you can imagine, but on January 24, for $24, you can participate in “a 24-hour curated film, art and music experience with multiple unique versions of the documentary generated around the clock and much more.” More on that here. And finally, Nickel Boys is currently in theaters.
You can read more on these movies, and more of Alissa’s favorites of 2024, here; there are also links to full reviews therein. You can follow Alissa on Blusky, Instagram, Substack, and Twitter, or you can just bookmark her author page at the Times. You can follow Jason on Blusky, Instagram, and Letterboxd - where you'll find his lists of all the movies on every episode of the show (including this one). You can follow Mike on Instagram, Blusky and Twitter/X/whatever.
