OBSERVATIONS OF DEVIANCE with David Mittleman | Playlist & Chat
Special Program: Öppet Archives: Swedish Free Jazz Round Table
Öppet is a fascinating and historically important series of albums focused on Swedish creative improvised music of the 1960s and 1970s, produced by Caprice Records (Anders Cangemark) in conjunction with the Centre for Swedish Folk Music and Jazz Research (Roger Bergner) and curator and musician Mats Gustafsson. The collection includes previously unreleased recordings by Swedish Jazz musicians such as Lars-Göran Ulander, Roland Keijser Kvartett and the Nisse Sandström Group. For this special show, host David Mittleman conduced a virtual round table with Cangemark, Bergner, Gustafsson and Ulander where they discussed Öppet and the history of Free Jazz in Sweden.
