Special Program: Black Artists Group: St. Louis Free Jazz
St. Louis Free Jazz of the late 1960s and early 1970s, while not as well known as as the Jazz from its Midwestern counterpart Chicago, is just as vibrant. Where Chicago had the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) St. Louis had the Black Artists Group (BAG). Host David Mittleman has prepared a 3-hour special devoted to St. Louis Free Jazz which will highlight the issuance of a previously unknown and unreleased live LP by the BAG - For Peace and Liberty, in Paris Dec 1972.
